This is a bit long, but well worth the time.

Notice his easy delivery and humor. Something to learn from.

Although it is only April we are looking towards the summer! God is going to do great things in the lives of our young people!

Any other thoughts?

good-to-great.jpgFrom Jim Collins – Good to Great

The moment a leader allows himself to become the primary reality people worry about, rather than reality being the primary reality, you have a recipe for mediocrity, or worse. This is one of the key reasons why less charismatic leaders often produce better long-term results than their more charismatic counterparts.

For what you know of Student Ministries at ECC – do we culture an environment that allows people to be most concerned with the kingdom (and our effectiveness) and less concerned about the feelings of leaders?

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Jesse Bogue of Canby. When tragedy hits…there are no words that suffice.

There is only Jesus – who served the Father. All of us are subject to the will and plan of the Lord.

Jesus, we lift this to you. Please be with the family and friends. Please help them to find solace in your grace. May they remember with joy the gift that Jesse was. And may they be granted joy in the midst of tragedy. Amen.

Update:

From friends of Jesse Bogue’s family:

Please pray for Chris and Renee Bogue and their other children Luke and Katie.
I can only imagine how heart rending this is for the family, especially as Renee has been battling breast cancer for about 8 years now.

Update from Ryan Brown (Canby Foursquare Student Ministries Pastor):

This is a tough one . . .

My nephew, Jesse Bogue, also an extremely prominent leader in our youth, passed away last Thursday.

Many of you knew him as he was gopher at camps, and at almost everything I could bring student leaders to.

Many, many of your youth knew him as well.

Please be praying for our family, church and our community. There are literally hundreds of youth devastated.

Memorial services will be held at Canby High Fine Arts building on Tuesday April 3rd at 6:30 pm.
